As all my readers are here to learn about making residual income and also wealth creation, Tonight I thought I’d talk about some of the things we need to consider when we’re getting into building wealth and success.
First of all as I have said many times most solid passive income opportunities actually take some time to develop properly. Let’s call this wealth building process a habit and start looking at it like that. Take for example fitness. How many of us actually feel good about our current physical state? I’ll be the first to admit that physically I’m not where I want to be but I slowly work towards that.
Well earning passive income is no different. Most of us are not where we want to be when it comes to our current financial situation. But just like fitness, the people who work at it everyday and take a step by step approach to achieving success are the same people likely to get to a point where they are financially “fit” and all they’ll have to do at that point is maintain it.
So remember whether you’re trying to set up passive income streams online or wanting to learn about how to invest in the stock market set up a habit where you are consistently working towards that final goal. Sure it’s not going to be easy, especially as you start out getting into the habit but is it going to be worth it in the long run? Hell yeah. So I suggest making it a daily routine to train your mind on how to earn passive income.
Below is a list of just a few examples you can work on daily that I like to call success exercises. Of course you can make your own list or add to this one but I just wanted to get your started!
- Read books on investing, passive income, internet business, sales, persuasion, success, motivation.
- Read blogs and websites on the same above topic.
- Take some action on some of the things you are reading about.
- Find a success coach or mentor to work with.
- Seek out a business partner that is willing to start up a new business opportunity.
- Work on your website business (if you have one)
- Post to your blog (if you have one)
- Go build links to your website (if you have one)
- Don’t watch TV!
We’re all here together on the journey to learn how to build passive income business whether through online or offline opportunities. I know that many people (myself included) spend way too many hours everyday surfing blogs and reading interesting articles about building wealth, attaining success, and earning income through the Internet. That’s a great thing and don’t get me wrong I love learning online but today I want to briefly talk about good old fashioned books.
I must say in the last year or so since I started really becoming interested, even obsessed with learning all that I could about setting up residual income streams, I can’t seem to get enough books in my hands. I go through at least 2 books a month now. The books I have been buying have focused on wealth, passive income strategies, business, marketing, sales, and of course how the Internet ties into all of this. If you’re not into reading books I can tell you then you’re not reading the right books or authors.
Today I just wanted to give you a small list of books that I’ve read over the past few months to a year that I really would recommend you to try out. Remember they won’t bring you instant success or teach you how to earn money in 24hours but they will definitely motivate, educate, and teach you success strategies that if you actually apply will pay off in your business and personal life.
- Cash Flow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki
- The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss
- The Science of Influence by Kevin Hogan
- Moonlighting on the Internet by Yanik Silver
- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker
The above books are all related to business, successful thinking, and methods on creating wealth. I have learned and become very motivated in different ways from each of these and some I’ve even re-read. Any readers out there who’d like to add to this list leave a comment, I’d love to hear about what you folks are reading and get further suggestions about what I should add to my Amazon wish list!
As you folks build up your passive income internet sites you are going to want to have as many links coming into your blog or website as possible. As you all know by now the more quality and related links you can round up the better. You’ll end up being positioned higher on the search engines and the more business and web traffic your residual income website will get.
So what’s all this talk about link exchanges? Well as some of you savvy SEO bloggers may have already picked up on it’s a good idea to try and get your link into other peoples “blogrolls” or “links” categories. Especially if the websites are of good quality and they are related to your own blog or website this will be a great opportunity for your business website to rank much higher in the search engines.
Now because Google and the other engines are smart companies they have already picked up on the fact that people are doing link exchanges and have now discounted some of the “juice” from blogrolls. But there is an option you can do that will work wonders and I’ll explain it to you now.
What you’re going to want to do is once you have built up a relationship with another website owner you should ask them to have a link pointing to your site or blog in one of their articles. As of this time links that are found within content are still very valuable. You could do an exchange and ask for them to put a link to your site into one of their articles and then you can do the same for them. Remember to get them to try and use your desired anchor text or at least something related to what you are trying to rank for in the search engines.
So remember as you work towards getting higher rankings and earning more residual income online you need to start getting really up to date with SEO strategies that work today and not just the ones that worked yesterday. Good luck and stay savvy!
If you want to make residual income on the web then there are certain tips and tricks that you really are going to need to start following in order to succeed. Today I want to talk to you folks a bit about domains and the role they play in determining online success and income earning potential.
First of all if you want to be making income online you’re going to need websites right? Well a good URL or domain name is crucial in this game. The tricky thing is that these days most really good domain names have already been registered so you need to start getting creative with how you go about purchasing them for yourselves to use.
What I recommend to avoid this trouble is going the route of buying expired or used domain names off people who have no use for them. At one point they may have had high visions of earning a passive income online but in the end were not able to. A few places I uses regularly to pick up good domain names are Godaddy’s, tdnam.com and also a website that I love (usability sucks though) by the name of FreshDrop.com. At both of these places you can get pre-owned URLs starting from $5.
There are many benefits to buying expired or pre-owned names off the internet. One benefit is that you can sometimes get names that you wanted but had already been taken. The main reason I like to buy them is because Google really likes aged domain names. It places importance on a name that has been around for a while and therefore you can rank better in search engines. What this means to you is you’ll be making more income online!
When it comes to aged domains and making passive income online you’re going to want to try and get your keywords in the URL that you select. So if for example you have a website about “stock investment” that you’re trying to make money from then when you do your searches on either TDnam.com or Freshdrop.com try and have both words in the name is possible. If you can only get one like “stock” or “investing” that is better then having none!
When starting to learn all about how you can earn online passive income you really need to choose a few good blogs to start reading often and just dissect everything that they talk about in relation to the subject. The great thing about this method is there are just so many good quality blogs on the internet these days that deal with building up passive income streams, investing, real estate, and much more. The hard part is just choosing which ones to read.
I must admit that on the Internet, information overload is one of the most difficult things to deal with. There are just so many websites or blogs out there. Some are great and many are also filled with information that is not too good. So what do you do to deal with this? I recommend finding a few blogs or newsletters that you are really learning from and just stick to those. You really need to block out the rest.
Below are a few of my personal favorite websites or blogs that focus mostly on learning about how to make residual income online:
If you visit and study from this list alone you will learn tons about making online passive income. What I would do is make up your mind to read 1 hour per day from each of these sites and ignore the rest. Or make your own list of about 3 or 4 blogs max and just read them for a maximum of 1 hour per day. Spend the rest of your time applying what you are learning and keep working on trying to set up you income business opportunities!
We all want to make online income and get excited about it when we start out. One common mistake that many beginners in this exciting game start to do is they build way too many websites to handle. Now don’t get me wrong here, having a bunch of websites is recommended and a great business model to follow. If you do that it means you’re setting up more and more internet residual income business opportunities. What I’m trying to say here is if you are building multiple websites to make sure that you at least set up a basic checklist for each website that you try out to see what kind of results you get before you move on to developing your next passive income yielding website!
So what exactly do I mean by doing them properly and how do you actually go about setting up a website that can produce passive income for you? Well you need to cover the bases with each of your sites that you actually want to do well with.
Some steps I like to follow for new websites are the following:
• Spend time on each site selecting your keywords that you will go after.
• Choose a good domain name preferably with your keywords in it and if possible, buy yourself an aged domain name.
• Write some keyword related articles/posts (at least 10 or more pages). These posts should be SEO optimized.
• Install the free Stat Counter Software
• Start building those links! Article marketing, blog roll exchanges, commenting, etc.
At the beginning stage there is no need to focus too heavily on the design. If your site starts to get a bunch of traffic at that time you can put more time and energy in to the graphic design side of things. If your site really doesn’t work out for you then at least you won’t have wasted tons of time on doing up a design that doesn’t help produce the income you are going after.
There is no doubt that not all your sites will turn out to be income producing machines but some of them will definitely have potential. What I usually like to do is spend some time on the above list for each website and then start up my next. After about 2 or 3 months if you did your keyword research right, did proper SEO optimization and followed the above tips you should start to see some traffic. If not at that point you can continue to try and work on developing your website or you can leave it for the time being and work on more promising websites. From personal experience some sites will start getting traffic quicker then others.
So if you are actually serious about making an income online and turning this into a true business opportunity then you really need to perform the above to each website you build to see if it has potential. There is no problem in having a bunch of sites that you are working on but make sure that if you want to see the true potential at least follow the basic steps outlined above!
We all know that to make a good income online we need good traffic coming to our websites and blogs. If you play the game correctly this internet web traffic will turn into residual income streams that will continue to grow as long as you maintain what you have built and keep working those keywords!
So how do you know what keywords people are using to find your current website? Well I recommend using a free tool called Stat Counter. I really love it and use it to track statistics of any and all of my websites. It has a bunch of cool features like how many visitors you’ve received, detailed visitor information, browser statistics, what page they exited on and more. But when it comes to building up my SEO I really like to use their keyword features.
In Stat Counter they have what is called the “keyword analysis” and “recent keyword activity”. This is where things get really interesting in terms of SEO and earning income online. You will be able to see what words people are using to find your website as well as a list of how many times each term has been used to find your website.
So let me give you an example. Say your website is about “making money on the Internet”. You might start to notice that many of the people coming to your site through search engines are finding you through the term “make cash on the web”. What often happens is you aren’t even going after that term but the search engines are ranking you high for that.
Here is the juicy part. What I then do is make a small list of the words people are using to find my site and then start using them in my site. Ways that you can use them is write some posts with the keywords in the title, add the keywords as tags if you’re using word press, and also inside posts that you write make that new keyword an anchored link back to your homepage or better yet the post that relates to it. You can also start using these new found keywords in your article marketing efforts.
So if you’re taking your online residual income business seriously then you really need to start learning more about how your users are interacting with your website or blog and also how they are finding you. Once you start to use the above technique you will really start to notice your current online income grow as well as your site traffic!
Welcome back to another post about making residual income online through having knowledge of SEO techniques. In the first post we spoke about how important traffic is to make a passive income on the Internet. I also spoke to you about some of the basic techniques you can apply to your pages in order to bring in some of this valuable traffic that everyone wants.
The great thing about learning some of the basic SEO optimization techniques is that once you start to master them you’ll be ahead of 99% of the people out there online trying to earn an income each month. Today in part two of this series I wanted to discuss the power of what we call anchored links.
So as we all know in order to actually build a website that gets steady traffic and earns passive income off a variety of sources like affiliate marketing, advertising, and more, we need to rank highly on Google, meaning on the first page if not in the top 3 results. What you’ll need to do is go and get anchored links.
Now anchored links are the words that you see on websites that you can click on and will take you to another website. So what you want to be doing is going out and getting hundreds if not thousands of anchored links on other websites that point towards your income generating website.
So let me give you a little example now. On this site I want to rank for the terms “residual income” and also “passive income” in the major search engines. When I go out and get links on other people’s websites, blogs, and in article marketing, I’m going to try to have those keywords as the anchor text as much as possible.
What will happen is that search engines like Google and Yahoo will see these keywords in the links and place greater importance on your websites search engine results when people search for those terms. I won’t get into detail today on how to go about getting these links but just remember at this point that the more targeted anchor links you have all around the web (especially from famous, respected website) the better you will rank in search engines. What does that mean for you? More residual income coming in online to your business!
When it comes to a residual income source there are so many different kinds that you can go after these days. You can try real estate, running a company on auto pilot, investing in bonds or stocks, and more. These days it seems that more and more people are trying to build passive income online through the use of the internet. Why not, the opportunities are abundant, and the internet is growing more and more on a daily basis.
So the question is if you do decide to go after making income on the Internet where in the world do you start. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed and not know which way you want to go or what you should do to make the residual income that everyone speaks about and tries to make it sound so easy to do. Let me tell you it won’t be easy but it’ll be well worth the effort once you see the monthly income start rolling in.
Well what I want to recommend to you today is to join a forum that will be able to help you learn all about internet marketing and how to make a passive income online. This community or learning center is called “The Affiliate Academy” and it’s one of a kind. I’m a member of it and I must say I’m amazed at what it has taught me. It is run by a man by the name of Vic who tells it to you like it really is and if anyone can teach you how to make income online it is him I must say!
With The Affiliate Academy, Vic doesn’t necessarily speak about one way to set up a your business but he teaches the fundamentals of how to make income online which in my mind is the most important to this game. I have learned so much through the website and continue to use it daily. There are interactive forums where you can ask questions and also heaps of recorded videos and sessions where you can listen to him chat and teach about making online income and more. If you are interested in signing up for this academy you can register here.
I’m not recommending that making residual income online is the only business model that you pursue but I think it’s a good one. I also think that if you do decide to go after making a passive income through the net you need a good website like The Affiliate Academy where you can ask questions and learn from people who make income online each and everyday and it is their main source of money!
If you want to make an online residual income and you want to start off fast without all of the waiting there is a way to get around it. Basically what you can do is buy a website that is already generating an online passive income. Yes that’s true people actually sell websites after they have built them up.
Let’s start off by explaining why buying a website that is already making a residual online income is a good idea. First of all when you start a new website on the internet in order to actually start being found by Google there is a waiting period or what is referred to as the Google “sandbox” in internet marketing circles. This is an unofficial time period of between three months to one year where new websites basically are not really found in search results by Google. It’s to protect people from spam websites that want to generate quick income online and then move on. What this means for you is even if you produce a legit website you’ll be waiting about three months at least until you see any income coming in.
Another good reason to buy a website that is already is making some money is that if you buy a proper site, the person who is running it has already done the keyword research, design, and search engine optimization for you. It couldn’t get easier then that. All you have to do is maintain the website by writing some content and keep updating the SEO of it. If you do that and you have purchased a proper site you will continue to generate passive income for a long time to come.
Now if you do want to buy a website that is already making an income online I would head over to the website sitepoint.com and then go browse around in there marketplace section. There you will be able to look through what people are offering. People usually price a website for 8-12 months of what they make monthly. So if they are earning $100 a month of residual income through Adsense then they will probably sell there site for between $800-1200 and that would be a fair price to ask. Just remember to make sure that you ask to see proof of what kind of income the site you are thinking about is actually making.
So if you really want to make an online income, then buying a website that is already generating money might be a great place to start. The good thing is you’ll already be earning residual income every month and you’ll start to understand how the whole system works and feels. As this purchased website is working away for you then you’ll just keep building your other sites in the background. If you do have a bit of income to put down I would really recommend this method of getting your feet wet in this game!
